Satis Jersey City, a neighborhood restaurant in Paulus Hook

The French style bistro Satis has received a liquor license and is instituting a corking fee.

The former BYOB restaurant in Paulus Hook also intends to open a wine bar in the former Gelato shop that operated next to the restaurant.

Satis is one of the better restaurants in Jersey City, but part of the appeal was lower cost bills at the end of the night. A liquor store a block away, showing up armed with wine was never a challenge for patrons, and adding alcohol can double the price of a restaurant bill.

Satis will soon open a wine bar
