Hamilton Park Renovations

The Hamilton Park renovation has been ongoing for a few months now. Mostly the project has been working on an irrigation system so far, including around the perimeter sidewalks. Unfortunately, a few sample tests of soil have found lead contamination, and the remainder of the park will now need to be tested.

A temporary playground has been set up on property adjacent to the park. The temporary park is being provided by the developers of Hamilton Square.

With that sort of contamination, when can we expect the park to open?

Whoa, crazy, I don't quite understand where I'm looking from in the temporary playground picture. I can see my old apartment - the first window above National Cleaners there in the distance - but I don't remember being able to see it from this vantage point when I moved out in August 08... did you take this from McWilliams? And if so, should there be the big new condos blocking your view of Nat Cleaners and 223 Pavonia?

There was lead found in the park; further tests were (are?) needed to determine the extent of the contamination.

The temporary playground is on a lot between Erie and McWilliams. The old structure there was razed and will eventually be the next phase of Hamilton Square. The picture was taken from McWilliams, with Hamilton Park behind the photographer.
