Jersey City went down too, from 24 murders in 2003 to a mere 23. Unless our math was wrong, we&#8217;re dissappointed to learn New Yorkers are safer then we are: <\/p>\n<p>New York:  7 murders per 100,000<br \/>Jersey City 9.5 murders per 100,000<\/p>\n<p>Of course, maybe we didn&#8217;t do the math right, since we were never very good at it.
